A website design that was destined to happen. The previous website was almost stressful to navigate and the photos didn't do justice to the beauty of the art she called cake. The goal behind the project was to revisit the overall presentation and "clean it up". Having a website's UX (user experience) taken care of is important in helping conversions go up. But lets zoom out a little.
The goal of a website selling items is to convert the large amounts of traffic you drive via marketing efforts. It begs the question (from a web designers perspective), why go through all the effort in getting SoOoo many people on your website if you don't care to see how they feel when going through the pages? I hope you the reader aren't in this boat but lets say you've put some of your budget towards making some content, setting up blog posts, and sending out some emails. Your website insights are floating to the moon but those sales aren't coming in. Pay attention to the bounce. You need people to stay on the website, they need to feel like they're welcome and happy. But how do you do it?
- Know your market, and know your product. Once you've got an understanding of the relationship those to have with each other, then you can move on to step 2.
- Pen and paper. Write down how your product cant help your people. What is going to trigger the "need" inside of them to want to buy the product. Price? Features? A bundle offer? A specific purpose?
- Once you've written down some ideas for what your product does for them, try to find some content in your storage that can send the message from step 2.
- Use the content on your landing page. If you don't have content, move to step 6.
- Test your results and immediately think of a new campaign for your product, relating the new plan to either an event thats taking place relative to your niche, and then
- Organise a photoshoot to satisfy the ideas you have for the campaign you believe would help your customers, and in return increase your revenue.
That was offtrack, but necessary. Once we redesigned the website, we organised a photoshoot for some of the cakes and suggested an idea to increase sales. The idea was to create bundles of cupcakes to compliment the cakes and fill up the table with colour. The website speaks for itself. A little planning goes a long way when it comes to how you want to look. A very thought out campaign can get you the right photos for your website, socials, blogs, emails, ads, etc. We like planning campaigns.
